Deployments during 2012 arranged chronologically (colors are same deployment)

March 5 --  Gordon w/PCR, CTD, and ISUS.  Placed close to shore in shallow water (36 46.742 -121 49.142) to test new shockle system and cell phone modem, as well as rejiggered thresholding software.  This is system to be run in New Zealand.

Schockle rubber broke March 7, causing high peak accelerations as can kept pulling taught against the strength member.

Recovered March 8.

March 19--ESP Sea-van leaves MBARI for Oakland

March 20 -- two cores, supply box, N2 dry shipper, and array membranes leave for air freight.

March 25--Chris P and Kevan fly to NZ.  April 5 Brent flies to NZ.

March 29 -- two cores, supply box and dry shipper arrive

April 22 -- Scott flies to NZ.

April 24 -- ESP Sea-van arrives at Cawthron

May 1 -- Deployed ESP-Gordon with MFB10, ISUS, and CTD.

May 3 -- team returns to MBARI.

May 31--Gordon recovered from Tasman Bay.  Waiting for Chris P arrival and uncanning.

June 1 -- Uncanned Gordon.  Sub1 valve makes weak flubbing sound, not nice strong click. No sub getting to the arrays; this explains their darkness.

June 24 -- Sea van leaves NZ. Scheduled to arrive Oakland July 15.

WHOI Deployment of ESP-Chris

April 15 -- Roman flies to WHOI; returns May 5

May 2 -- Deploy ESP-Chris

June 4 -- Discover intake syringe mechanism has failed; jams under load but works fine when moving air.  This came after only pulling 300ml on most recent run.  Recommend shutting down and recovering.

NOAA/Woods Hole Deployment of ESPFRIDAY

May 16-17 -- Scouting trip to Friday Harbor for shed build and comms checking

June 2 -- ESP Friday deployed on dock. Tentative to end July 16.

June 26 - continues to run, but lost internet access due to an unknown networking error.

Diversion Experiment; So. California Deployment of ESP-Gordon / NEO

Aug 30 -- Haul instrument and gear in trailer and MBARI van to deploy on OCSD R/V Nerissa. Calm seas, hot weather, instrument in ~10:30am. Gordon w/PCR, CTD, ISUS, cell-phone modem (T-Mobile). Sewage diversion to begin Sep 11, 2012. Machine located at 33.59703 -117.94623.  Divers from Orange County Sheriff's dept.

Sep 14-noticed CTD battery draining faster than expected because of optode.  Also, ATV encoder in MFB  kept returning 511, which is 2**9-1  meaning all bits are stuck high--typical way they fail.  Stopped PCR, continued SHA, but with dead CTD no contextual data to adaptive sample off of.  Decision to flip for NEO on Sep 26.

Sep 26-recovered ESP-Gordon and swapped both batteries and ESP-Neo.  Also changed CTD so now no optode (O2) measurments.  One power cable fizzed away.  Connector on pickle jar loose.  But NEO now running well. Skipper gave deployment coordinates of 33 35.829   -117 56.759.  Xeos says  33.59702 -117.94604.  Water depth 18m.  CTD/can depth=6.3m.  Divers from LBAoP--Eric Castillo and Steve Lang.

Oct 16-Recovered ESP-Neo.  Divers from LBAoP--Steve Lang and Veronica Anderson.

Fall CANON--Drifter with ESP-Moe / Moe

WF leaves MBARI Sept 10.  Moe with PCR, ISUS, CTD, PAR, and buoy has downward ADCP.  Roman and Julie R. on ship.

Moe went into water Sep 11. First phase slated for 6pm.

Pulled Sep 17 (10:30am).  E/M cable started flaking out either due to connector or bad ethernet extender.  Decision to end mission unrelated to this.
